Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong has assured residents of Mankessim and the family of murdered Mfantseman MP, Ekow Quansah Hayford of justice.
He disclosed that preliminarily investigation conducted by his team indicates that the MP was killed by contract killers and not armed robbers as the media is reporting.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the family to express his condolences Monday, the business mogul said, he will do everything in his power to ensure the arrest of the killers within the shortest possible time.
While warning some persons who described themselves as eyewitnesses, Mr Agyapong said their narratives were hindering the investigation by the police.
The vociferous MP said this is making it difficult for the facts surrounding the attack to be ascertained.
Explaining further, Mr Agyapong said, the police currently have on record a man who alleges to have been present during the attack on the Nkusukum Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze road in the Central Region but his narration does not seem to add up.
He warned that, if the said eyewitness continues to give filtered versions of the incident to the media, the police will be forced to arrest him as a suspect in the murder.
The legislator also revealed that prior to the death of the MP, Elvis Morris Donkoh who is the current MP for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese constituency had received a call from some unknown person warning him about threats to his life.
He said Mr Donkoh had also been urged to call the late Mfantseman MP and NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam Constituency since their lives were also in danger.
Mr Agyapong urged the family to keep calm as he is optimistic there will be an arrest soon.
