Andre Ayew has become the second player with the most appearances for Ghana after featuring in the game against Sudan at the Cape Coast stadium.
Prior to the Sudan game, Ayew was tied with Richard Kingston at 90 appearances in Ghana’s 5-1 win against Qatar last month, 13th October.
The Swansea forward moved to 91 appearances after being included in the team to face Sudan.
Ayew got his first call-up by Ghana coach Claude Le Roy for a friendly match against Senegal in 2007.
He made his international debut in the match, appearing as a late-match substitute at 17 years 246 days becoming the 14th youngest player to make his debut for Ghana.
Ayew has since played in two FIFA World Cups, as well as six Africa Cup of Nations helping Ghana finish runner-up in 2010 and 2015 editions
Andre's brace against Sudan means he's just one goal away from equaling Sulley Muntari's tally of 20 goal for the Black Stars.
With 91 appearances, Ayew now sits second in Ghana’s all-time highest appearance and is 19 appearances away from breaking the all-time record held by Ghana top goal scorer Asamoah Gyan who is on 109.
