Fire has destroyed structures around the Adjei Kojo Government School in the Tema West Constituency.
Reports reaching JoyNews reveal that the fire started at about 6pm on Thursday. The residents were able to douse the fire in about 25 minutes before personnel of the Ghana Fire Service arrived.

The timely intervention of the residents prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining buildings.

Nonetheless, items in a cosmetic shop that also serves as an abode for yoghurt sellers, was razed down. A salon was also destroyed in the process, according to Michael Elikem Abayateye, an eyewitness and resident of the area.
Sources say neither students nor shop owners were harmed by the fire.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Fire Service is investigating the cause of the unfortunate incident. However, residents have attributed the fire outbreak to an electrical fault.
