Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, says there is not an iota of doubt the Black Stars of Ghana will win its upcoming match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Friday.
This comes after the Nigerian Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, while visiting the Nigerian team at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi stated that his side will “beat the shit out of them [the Black Stars].”
In response, Mustapha Ussif said Ghana has an established track record of beating Nigeria in football matches, thus it is rest assured that the Black Stars will dash the Super Eagles’ dreams of qualifying to the World Cup.
“As far as we know, Nigeria cannot compare themselves to Ghana as far as football is concerned. And my brother is just tickling himself just to make himself happy.
“And I know that if you look at his posture – I saw the video – if you look at his posture you can see that he’s under serious pressure and tension because he knows the country he’s coming to meet, and he knows what we can do; we can create surprises,” he said.
Boasting of Ghana’s football prowess, he added that “It’s a country that when we use a club to represent our nation, Nigeria could not stand us, even a club level that we used to represent our nation Nigeria could not stand us.
“So I’m very, very confident that on Friday the star of the Republic of Ghana is going to shine bright across the country.”
According to him, the Ghana Black Stars is well poised to do whatever it takes to win the match.
“We’re ready to battle and we’re very very sure that our boys, the caliber of players that we have called, the commitment that they have shown so far at the training, the technical team that we have, the management team that we have, there’s no doubt that on Friday our Black Stars, the Black Stars of the Republic is going to shine, and shine across the whole world.
“And we’re going to defeat Nigeria, both here in Kumasi and also in Abuja, faraway in Nigeria. There’s no doubt. We are prepared to beat Nigeria in this game both here in Ghana and also in Nigeria,” he said.
