Ghana Women's Premier League champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, have progressed to the semifinal of the WAFU B Women's Champions League after winning their final group game.
The Nana Mma defeated Athleta Football Club on Sunday, August 28, with a 1-0 score to finish second in Group B with Bayelsa Queens topping.
Mavis Owusu's header from a Constance Agyemang cross in the 72nd minute was enough for the Techiman-based side as they advanced to the last four of the competition.
The win on Sunday means Ampem Darkoa Ladies end the group stages with seven points, after a win over USFA and drawing with the Nigerian champions.
However, the goal difference meant Bayelsa secure the top spot with the Ghanaian side coming in second.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies will be looking to repeat the feat Hasaacas Ladies achieved when they qualified for the maiden edition of the CAF Women's Champions League after winning the WAFU B qualifiers.
