The Chief Executive Officer of Accra Great Olympic, Oluboi Commodore, says Maxwell Abbey Quaye will play for the Wonder Club in the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League season.
The forward was reported on deadline day to have sealed a move to rival club Hearts of Oak ahead of the upcoming season.
Following these reports, Abbey Quaye failed to feature in the GHALCA G6 tournament, a competition Olympics went ahead to win after beating Bechem United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In an interview after the final, the Olympics CEO revealed he had received assurance from the player that he will play for the Wonder Club.
“He has assured that if he has to play in Ghana, he will play with Great Olympics. He is in the system for Great Olympics now….He has told me that he will not play in Ghana if he is not playing with Olympics," he told Citi Sports.
The new Ghana football season is set to begin on September 9.
