Musician Shatta Wale says his request to collaborate with his ex-girlfriend Michy was not because he wanted them to rekindle their romantic relationship.
The dancehall artiste noted that he believes people like to see them together but not as a couple.
“It's not that I wanted her back… but you know, I think people love our union not necessarily in a relationship form but we gel together, so I think people wanted a feel of that,” Shatta Wale said.
This comes a month after Shatta Wale decided to set aside his differences and work again with his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his son.
The ‘My Level’ hitmaker was impressed after Michy was captured demonstrating the Shatta Movement (SM) sign at the 2022 Ashaiman to the World concert.
Shatta Wale shared the picture on his Instagram page, noting that he was happy to see Michy represent the Movement.
“This is how it should be done… We built this “Symbol of hope”. Thank you. Now I can sleep. In fact, let’s do another song. This time I won’t pay you in kind but cash. Kudos to BHIM nation.”
Michelle Diamond, also known as Michy, in her response was seemingly hesitant to accept the offer to collaborate with Shatta Wale again.
Taking to Snapchat, she noted that although Shatta Wale offered to pay her for the collaboration, he may complain later.
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale disclosed that they have been able to develop a cordial relationship where they work together in the interest of their son, Majesty.
The self-acclaimed dancehall king said he is currently single and searching for a partner. He made the latest assertion on Good Evening Ghana on Thursday.
