The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched ‘Operation 1 million votes, 18/18’ in the Volta Region as it readies for the general elections in December 2024.
The opposition party seeks to garner one million total presidential votes and win all 18 parliamentary seats in the region.
This was contained in a communique issued by the Volta Regional Secretariat of the NDC at the end of its regional stakeholders meeting in Sogakope in the South Tongu Constituency.
The communique recognized that the region has a crucial role to play in helping the NDC clinch victory in 2024, hence the decision by the regional executives to outline measures to help achieve victory.
“The region remains the pivot of our great party, the NDC. Victory 2024 is co-terminus with our work output in the region because the Volta Region has an appointment with destiny to lead the NDC to power to reorient the direction of this country.
Accordingly, we have earmarked operation 1 million votes in the 2024 presidential election and 18/18a ie. all parliamentary seats for the NDC”, it stated.
The party also seeks to work to outwit instances of electorates voting for either the NDC’s parliamentary or presidential candidate and an opponent on the same ballot box, code-named “Operation zero tolerance for Skirt and Blouse”.
The communique also entreated party faithful to be disciplined and abide by the party’s code of conduct during the parliamentary and presidential primaries, slated for 13th May 2023.
