Based in the Central Region of Ghana, Apam Senior High School has qualified for the final stage of the 2023 Onga Cook Art national championship.
The Central Regional champions battled with four other regional winners, including Bolga Girls' SHS, Damango SHS, Akumadan SHS, and Chemu SHS, in the Zone D championship.
As usual, the participants were taken through an oral assessment to test their theoretical skills before venturing into the kitchen task of the day which was for an hour.
Afterwards, contestants moved ahead to cook and serve the ultimate healthy breakfast to a woman who owns a supermarket.
Anticipations were high, and the participating schools pulled out their best culinary skills in order to fill the last spot in the finals and win the GH₵20,000.00 cash prize.
Apam SHS won the competition with 87 out of the100 points. Chemu SHS, Bolga Girls' SHS, Akumadan SHS, and Damango SHS emerged in second, third, fourth, and fifth positions with 64, 63, 50.5, and 47 points, respectively.
Various contestants did their best and the judges commended their outstanding performances but the Central regional champions stood out for the judges.
Apam SHS is therefore to stand in for the Zone D schools and compete with Notre Dame Girls' SHS, Sefwi Bekwai SHS, and Yaa Asantewaa Girls' SHS at the grand finale on Sunday, May 21.
