Despite announcing his retirement from football, former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan says he is not abandoning the sport.
Gyan, who scored 51 goals for the Black Stars, announced his retirement from active football at the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Afri-exim Bank Africa Trade Gateway Conference, but will pick up other roles in the sport.
"I am reminded by views of great business men and sport moguls that: 'you do not leave your love'. I will put my experience and knowledge to use in the field of coaching, football business and scouting," Gyan wrote in his retirement statement.
A week before announcing his retirement, the final of Gyan's Baby Jet U-16 tournament was played at the Cape Coast stadium and live casted on DSTV.
