A flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has marked himself high above all others who occupied his position as Vice President.
Touting his achievements to delegates as he toured the Ashanti Region, Dr. Bawumia said he remains the most hardworking Vice President in Ghana after 66 years of independence.
He said his track record in the almost 7 years in office makes him the best candidate to lead the NPP as its flagbearer for the 2024 Presidential election.
“I have been a hardworking Vice President and everybody can attest to that fact. You all know that since Kwame Nkrumah’s time as President, you know we have not had any hardworking Veep like myself, so I have the political experience,” he said.
According to Dr. Bawumia, his achievements as Vice President puts him ahead of his contenders and makes him a threat to John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress.
“Looking at all the 10 aspirants, I have defended the party and I remain the most feared candidate amongst all. I have become a nightmare for the NDC and their candidate,” he said.
He added that despite his hardwork in government, he has served and defended the party in honesty and should therefore be given the nod as flagbearer.
Currently, Dr. Bawumia has toured all 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region to interact with NPP delegates ahead of the party’s primaries.
