Asante Kotoko can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Libyan side Al Ahly SC for the transfer of midfielder and Club Captain, Richard Boadu, on a permanent deal subject to medicals.
The skipper, whose football career began with our youth side, rejoined the club in September 2021, playing an integral role in the club’s Premier League triumph in the 2021/2022 season.
Boadu was named Club captain at the start of the 2022–2023 season, having shown resilience, commitment, and stellar performances in his debut season with the club.
The skipper leaves with the record number of tackles in the team and most duels won, scoring two goals with five assists and eight man-of-the-match awards in his last season with the Club.
The Club wishes to thank Richard Boadu for his contribution to the club’s recent successes and professionalism during his time with us and wishes him the very best for the future.
