The Convention People’s Party (CPP) says it is unaware of any collaborations with New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Alan Kyerematen ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Alan Kyerematen withdrew from the NPP flagbearership race on September 5, citing a biased electoral process favoring a specific candidate.
Although, he has not officially announced his future political plans, recent media reports suggested a possible partnership with the CPP’s Ivor Greenstreet for the 2024 elections.
But Chairperson of the CPP, Nana Frimpomaa Akosua Sarpong, has denied the collaborations.
“Ivor has told me nothing so I have no clue where that information is coming from,” she said.
However, she emphasised that the party has opened its doors to Mr. Kyerematen and any individual who shares its ideology and is dissatisfied with their current political affiliation.
“Here is the truth, Alan is a fine gentleman. CPP wants to have Alan Kyerematen plus more, we want to have Kennedy Agyapong if he also feels he’s not been treated properly, we want to have all the other NDC candidates who want to join.”
“CPP has the best policies for this country, there is no doubt about that,” she said.
She also took on the NPP government for mismanaging the economy and promised to transform the country if CPP is given the mandate.
“We’re hoping to fix the country, to keep it alive by taking over power. We’re not a fraternity just to have Osagyefo celebrated every year.”
“Osagyefo will not be happy in his grave until the day Ghana becomes a vision, the Ghana of today is the Ghana of colonial vision, where we focus and buy everything foreign and do not produce anything local.”
“We cannot make it, our dollar will not work, we’ll be going to IMF, it’s a simple thing,” she explained.
