The New Patriotic Party will in the next 24 hours be deciding on who leads the party into the 2024 general elections.
Contenders are Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong; former Minister of Agriculture, Owusu Afriyie Akoto; and former MP for Asante Mampong, Francis Addai-Nimoh.
While the contest has been very heated, it has not been without controversy. Candidates have accused each other of peddling ethnocentric rhetoric and of vote buying, amongst others.
On Newsfile on Saturday, host Samson Lardy Anyenini and his panel will be analyzing the issues being raised ahead of the election and how the party recuperates from the election fallouts.

It will also discuss the recent military brutality on residents of Garu and Tempane, communities in the Bawku area.
A joint force of National Security personnel and the Ghana Armed Forces had raided the towns, assaulted and arrested men in reprisal of an alleged earlier attack by some community members of five national security personnel who had been deployed to the area to carry out counterterrorism work.
The military attack has been condemned widely, and concerned stakeholders have said that the brutality meted out could potentially strain the collaboration between community members and security agencies in combating the spread of terrorism from Burkina Faso.
The show will also take a look at the issue of corruption and its perceived unprecedented levels in the country. Remember in the course of the week, the OSP 'shocked' many when it reported that it was unable to prosecute former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry who is said to have engaged in influence peddling, an act not codified as a corruption infraction. Is that not the position of Ghanaian laws, or is it?
Join the show on Saturday at 9 am as the panel pummel these issues, and help us all with what ought to be the truth.
