Crystal Palace boss, Roy Hodgson, says his team’s attack is blunt without Ghana forward, Jordan Ayew.
He said this after the Eagles were hammered 5-0 thumping at Arsenal on Saturday without the 32-year-old who is at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana.
Crystal Palace are yet to score in three games since Jordan left for the ongoing tournament in Ivory Coast.
Speaking after the demolition at Arsenal, Hodgson is optimistic the situation will change when Jordan and Michael Olise return.
“Our attacking threat, when you lose [Michael] Olise and [Jordan] Ayew at the same time, is obviously blunted. That will change when those two players come back,” Hodgson said.
Jordan Ayew is set to feature for Ghana against Mozambique tonight in the Black Stars’ final group game, and if they win, he could stay in Ivory Coast a bit longer.
The Black Stars currently sit third in Group B and must win against The Mambas, and hope other results go their way to qualify to the round of 16 as one of 4 third place teams.
