The tenth edition of the KGL Millennium Marathon was launched on Thursday, February 15, at the KGL Group Ghana office in Accra.
The 2024 edition of the marathon will mark 10 years since the inception of the competition in 2015.
Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Evans Bobie Opoku, was the Guest of Honour at Thursday's launch with the event also seeing the presence of representatives of the sponsors of the marathon.

This year's event is slated for September 7. Key points of this year's edition include the Accra Sports Stadium, Osu Oxford Street, Prisons Headquarters, Nationalism Park, World Trade Centre and Jubilee House.
The Race Director & Managing Partner at Millennium Marathon, during her speech, revealed the vent has now been certified by World Athletics.
"The Millennium Marathon will now feature on the World Athletics Global Calendar, marking a historic milestone as the first-ever event in Ghana to achieve such recognition," she said.
"This prestigious status not only elevates the marathon to international acclaim but also promises to attract a higher calibre of athletes."
This year's competition will also feature timing chips to ensure utmost accuracy for professional competitors which will further enhance the level of competition.
With regards to cash prizes, those who finish between the first and 25th will be rewarded with the winner from the 21km event taking home GH₵ 75, 000.
Interested athletes who are looking to compete can register with GH₵ 100 for the 21km category or GH₵ 70 for the 5km.
