The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed Esme Mends has been appointed as Club Licensing Manager and administrative assistant to the National Teams Department.
The former Real Sportive and Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder replaces Julius Emunah on a substantive basis.
Emunah will now take up a role with the GFA’s competitions department.
Esme Mends made his name at Accra Hearts of Oak where he won the league in 2009.
He first played for the now-defunct Real Sportive in Tema from 2005 to 2008 before joining Accra Hearts of Oak in 2008.
He later featured for clubs in Oman and South Africa before calling time on his career in 2016.
He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Sports coaching at the University of Education at Winneba.
