The wife of the late Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah has filed a formal complaint with the Ghana Police Service.
Mrs Lilian Kumah is seeking answers from Accra-based radio host Captain Smart over alleged poisoning, which he claims led to her husband’s death.
Dr. Kumah passed away in the early hours of Thursday, March 7, following a brief illness.
Information from the family indicates that the 45-year-old's health deteriorated en route to Accra in an ambulance, leading to an unplanned diversion to the Suhum Government Hospital, where he succumbed, leaving behind his wife, Apostle Lilian Kumah, and 6 children.
Amidst the grief, a series of online videos surfaced featuring Captain Smart alleging that the late Ejisu legislator and other prominent figures within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were targeted victims of poisoning.
He also claimed to possess concrete evidence to support his statements, challenging any skeptics to dare him to unveil the proof.
This has prompted Apostle Lilian Kumah to lodge a formal complaint with the Accra Central Divisional Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service on Friday, March 8.
She expressed deep concern over the insensitivity shown towards the grieving family and called on the authorities to take swift action against those spreading falsehoods.
