The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has firmly cautioned the Electoral Commission (EC), voicing its vehement objection to any discriminatory selection of electoral areas for the forthcoming May 2024 voter registration exercise.

In a statement issued by the NDC's Director of Elections and IT, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, on Saturday, March 16, 2024, the party underscored its unwavering stance against any semblance of bias or favouritism in the selection process.

"The party further urged the EC to ensure transparency and fairness in the selection of electoral areas, emphasising that any deviation from this principle would be vehemently resisted."

Expressing apprehension over circulating rumours regarding the selection process, the NDC has urged the EC to promptly address these concerns and provide clarification on the matter.

Highlighting the significance of open dialogue and consultation across various levels, including District, Regional, and Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) levels, the NDC emphasised the need for thorough discussions regarding the electoral areas slated for the limited registration exercise.

Emphasizing inclusivity and collaborative efforts among all stakeholders, the NDC stressed the importance of conducting the process in a manner that upholds the integrity of the electoral system.

"The EC must not willingly or inadvertently lend itself to NPP's mistaken belief that they can rely on (a submarine) strategy in the election 2024."

"The electoral areas under consideration for the limited registration in May must be discussed at all levels (DIPAC, RIPAC, and IPAC)."
