A spokesperson for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, Paul Yandoh, says the NPP will remain victorious in the Ejisu constituency in all future elections.
According to him, the large turnout of supporters at the NPP rally in Ejisu on Sunday, April 28, demonstrated the constituency's loyalty to the party.
Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on April 30, he said that “it shows you that the party is rejuvenated. So, gingered by the party machinery and that they are going to be here to vote for Kwabena Boateng as anticipated."
"I have always believed that the NPP will forever remain the vibrant party in the constituency because we have brought much development to the Ejisu constituency," Mr Yandoh said.
According to him, the Ejisu constituency is important to the NPP, pointing out that the country's most expensive development project, the Boankra Inland Port, is located in the area.
“It’s not everywhere that we have sent that project to, it is in Ejisu. Yesterday, upon listening to the Roads Minister, we have close to 32 road contracts awarded to this constituency," he added.
Mr. Yandoh noted that anytime the Ejisu constituency votes for an NPP parliamentary candidate, that person often receives a ministerial appointment.
“Osei Adjei was the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, honourable Aduomi who is now stabbing the party in the back was Deputy Road and Highways Minister. John Kumah became Deputy Finance Minister.”
“We have like 44 MPs in the region. Not everyone is a minister but consistently with the Ejisu constituency, we have already had a ministerial portfolio. I think it is something that I will say the party has done for the constituency of which they have to look on and vote for the NPP,” he said.
