After many attempts, Serwaa Nyarko Senior High School in the Ashanti region is finally making their first appearance at the national stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
The all-female school named after one of the Asante Queenmothers suffered constant public ridicule for their series of failures in the competition.
But students and old girls of the school can now heave a sigh of relief and boast of their historic accomplishment of qualifying to the national championship.

The school beat Fomena T.I. Amass, Alzhariyyah SHS and Christ the King Catholic SHS to qualify for their first national tournament.
It was a contest predicted in favour of Fomena Amass, but to the surprise of many, Serwaa Nyarko convinced the audience of their capabilities to outcompete.
In an intense contest, the school proved their mettle by dominating the rounds of the contest.
The school begun the contest snatching away bonuses of their opponents as they rightly answered their major questions to lead with 15 points at the end of the first round.
The school extended their lead in the second and third rounds to warrant their entry into the national championship.

While T.I. Amass had managed to snatch some points at the riddle round to inch closer, the girls swiftly picked some riddles to block their chances of overcoming them.
The school won the contest accruing 35 points with T.I. Amass coming second with 26 points.
Their contenders, Al-Azhariya Islamic SHS and Christ the King SHS pegged at 9 points each.
The girls from Serwaa Nyarko are determined for another historic win at the national level.
