The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has disbursed an additional GH¢151 million to healthcare providers across the country.
This move underscores the authority’s commitment to maintaining the smooth operation and delivery of quality healthcare through the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
In a press statement shared on its official Facebook page, the NHIA explained that the funds are intended to settle outstanding claims up to March 2024 for higher-tier healthcare providers and April 2024 for the majority of clients at lower-tier facilities.
This latest release follows a previous disbursement of GH¢135.6 million, which was allocated to clear outstanding claims for February 2024 for higher-tier providers and March 2024 for most lower-tier facilities.
NHIA CEO, Dr. Da-Costa Aboagye, emphasized the authority’s ongoing commitment to engaging with stakeholders to address any concerns and to work towards a sustainable and efficient healthcare system.
