The Chief of Aboso, Nana Kwabena Asante I, has submitted a petition to the Minister of the Interior, Henry Quartey, and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, calling for an investigation into the conduct of three senior police officers in the Western Central Regional Police Command.
The petition, dated September 3, 2024, and co-signed by queen mother Nana Akosua Akomaso and other key figures, raises concerns about the behaviour of the officers.
The officers named in the petition include the Western Central Regional Police Commander, the Tarkwa Divisional Police Commander, and Chief Inspector Joseph Bosman Amoako of the Aboso Police.

The petition accuses the officers of failing to uphold the moral standards expected of the Ghana Police Service and claims they have become ineffective in their roles, particularly singling out Chief Inspector Amoako.
One of the major issues highlighted in the petition is the allegation that the officers are supporting "miscreants and non-indigenous groups" in an attempt to install a rival chief in Aboso, despite the presence of a legally recognised chief in accordance with local customs and traditions.
Additionally, the petition accuses the Regional Police Commander of verbally abusing traditional leaders, including the Nifahene, who has warned of legal action if the behaviour persists.

Chief Nana Kwabena Asante I emphasised the urgency of the matter, urging the authorities to address the situation swiftly to prevent further escalation.
He stressed that the community’s peace and security are at risk, and the chiefs and elders are keen to avoid compromising the stability of Aboso.
