The Board Chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has asserted that the resignation of Dubik Mahama will not impact the operational efficiency of the company.
This statement comes in light of Mr Mahama's recent decision to step down from his role as the Managing Director of ECG, which has raised concerns about potential disruptions in service delivery.
Mr Afenyo-Markin emphasised that the company's processes are robust enough to withstand leadership changes.
He noted that the ECG has a well-structured management team that is capable of maintaining its performance standards, regardless of individual departures.
The board chairman reassured stakeholders that there are systems in place to ensure a seamless transition and continued operations.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, September 26, Mr Afenyo-Markin highlighted that the ECG remains committed to enhancing its services, particularly in addressing customer needs and improving the overall efficiency of the electricity distribution network.
He underscored that the company's focus will remain on long-term strategic goals rather than being swayed by leadership changes.
“The board has received the support of management in its decision and we are here to assure you that the fact that we have had changes in management will not mean that you are going to have some interrupted power supply. The entire system of the company is in place and the company will continue to provide the essential services that it provides for Ghanaians and the country," he said.
