The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, has assured political parties that the majority of discrepancies in the voter register have been addressed.
This announcement came during an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held on Tuesday, October 1, at the Alisa Hotel.
Jean Mensa acknowledged that while the current voter register is not entirely flawless, the Commission has taken significant steps to rectify the identified errors.
She emphasised that such imperfections are common in any voter registration process and are being actively managed.
Despite the progress made, Mensa reminded stakeholders that the voter register is still a work in progress.
Madam Mensah stated that EC remains committed to ensuring its accuracy ahead of the upcoming elections, with ongoing efforts to resolve any outstanding issues.
“These errors are not unusual. All it takes are conscientious efforts to get them resolved."
“You will realise that the voters register for today is different from what was provided to the parties in August,” she added.
