Bibiani GoldStars head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso has downplayed suggestions that his team are favourites to win the Ghana Premier League title, insisting that it is “too early” for such predictions.
GoldStars currently lead the league table after nine match days, boasting the best defensive record and amassing 13 points from a possible 15 in their five home matches.
Frimpong Manso, however, maintains that his team are focused on a match-by-match approach rather than thinking about the title at this stage.
“It’s still early [days] yet,” he told Joy Sports. “We’re only nine games into a 34-game season, so you can’t say everything is done.”
He added, “We’ll keep working hard, as we’ve done since day one. For me, I’m not thinking about the title but the next game.”
Frimpong Manso’s impressive run has also earned him a nomination for the GPL October Coach of the Month award, marking a strong start to his season with the Miners.
