Twenty-eight days after Afenyo-Markin approached the Supreme Court for an interpretation of Article 97(1)(g)(h) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, a ruling has been made.
The court found that Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin’s declaration of four seats as vacant was incorrect and unconstitutional. This decision had briefly given the NDC a majority in Parliament.
