The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared victory in the 2024 general election, with its National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, describing the outcome as a "resounding triumph" for the party.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, 8 December, he expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their overwhelming support.
Mr. Gyamfi emphasised that the party’s declaration was based on evidence gathered from polling stations nationwide.
He stated that the NDC had obtained copies of pink sheets from its agents at all polling stations, which confirm the party’s claim of victory in both the presidential and parliamentary races.
"I am happy to inform the good people of Ghana that from the results we have seen so far from our internal collation, it is clear that Ghanaians have rejected eight years of corruption, eight years of incompetence, eight years of state capture, eight years of nepotism and cronyism, eight years of waste and eight of insensitivity and arrogance and they have given the NDC resounding victory," he said.
He further urged Ghanaians to remain calm as the party awaits the official declaration of results by the Electoral Commission.
Mr. Gyamfi expressed confidence that the Commission would uphold the will of the people and reflect the outcome accurately.
