Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia says he has called and congratulated the former president, John Dramani Mahama, on winning the presidential election.
"I have just called His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to congratulate him as President-elect of the Republic of Ghana."
According to him, he had assured during the signing of the peace pact a few days before the polls that "Ghana will win and peace will reign."
He added that the people have "voted for change this time," and he respects their decision.
