The Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has successfully retained his seat with a total of 16,222 votes, representing 52.82%.
He defeated his closest rival, Adam Mutawakilu of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who secured 14,425 votes, or 46.97%. Independent candidate Saaka Baba Moses received 66 votes, representing 0.2%.
During the declaration, Johnson Akafiu, the Savannah Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, confirmed that the commission had an agreement with the political parties to collate and announce both the presidential and parliamentary results.

“Following the collation of the results for the parliamentary election, Samuel Abu Jinapor received 16,222 votes, Adam Mutawakilu received 14,425 votes, and Saaka Baba Moses received 66 votes.
The winner of this election is Samuel Abu Jinapor, who is the MP-elect for the Damongo Constituency,” he said.

However, Akafiu noted that two polling stations, Almanara Primary School and L/A Primary School at Kambape, were excluded from the results due to inconclusive outcomes.
These two stations, with a combined voter population of 1,020, were not factored into the final tally. He explained that even if the rejected votes from these polling stations were added to Mutawakilu's total, his score of 15,445 would still fall short of Jinapor's 16,222 votes, ensuring Jinapor's victory.

The Savannah Regional Chairman, Secretary, Director of Elections, and the Damongo Constituency Secretary, among others, expressed their gratitude to the people of Damongo for re-electing Mr. Samuel Abu Jinapor and for entrusting him with the responsibility of serving the constituency with renewed energy and commitment to development.
