The Governing Council of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has announced the promotion of Dr George Cudjoe Agbemabiese to the rank of Associate Professor in Marketing.
The announcement was contained in a circular signed by the Registrar of the University, Mrs Lorraine Gyan, after approval by the governing council at its 94th Regular Meeting held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
Dr Agbemabiese is the Vice Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Marketing.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Putra Business School, University Putra Malaysia, and an MPhil in Marketing from the University of Ghana Business School.
He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the same institution.
Prior to his appointment as Vice Dean, Dr Agbemabiese served in various capacities in the University including as Head of the Marketing Department, Marketing representative on the Faculty of Management Board, Patron for the Marketing Students Association, as well as Coordinator for the MBA Marketing programme.
Dr Agbemabiese also served as a research coordinator from 2019 to 2020, where he coordinated research activities within the marketing department.
He also contributed significantly to the university’s governance, serving on several committees and boards.
Notable among them are the Academic Board, Board of Examiners, Time Table, Disciplinary and Business, and Oversight Committees of the UPSA Council.
Dr Agbemabiese is a published author, with over 25 academic papers and five book chapters featured in peer-reviewed journals, including Scopus-indexed and high-impact factor journals.
He is also an alum of the Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon).
