Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has summoned Parliament to convene at the Grand Arena on Monday, 16th December.
This announcement was contained in a notice of commencement of the Seventh Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Eighth Parliament of Ghana.
It follows an earlier request by Mr Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, who had urged the Speaker, through a memo, to use his discretion under Orders 57(3) and 58(4) of the Standing Orders of the House.

Mr Afenyo-Markin had requested Parliament to sit for two days, the 28th and 29th of November, to deliberate on 22 agenda items, which he described as either outstanding public business or urgent government business.
In a memo dated 26th November, the Speaker declined the request, responding that Parliament would reconvene after the 7th December general elections.
He explained that this arrangement would allow the House to address all critical matters before a seamless transition into the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.
