Asante Kotoko legend, Eric Bekoe, believes Sunday’s Super Clash between his former side and Hearts of Oak will be more of a tactical battle than one determined by current form.
The two most prominent clubs in Ghanaian football will face off in Matchday 13 of the Ghana Premier League at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Heading into the fixture, Hearts of Oak are in sixth place with 19 points, while Asante Kotoko sit seventh with 18 points. A victory for either team could prove pivotal in their bid to climb higher on the table.
While both clubs have struggled with consistency, they have also managed to string together good runs, with Hearts of Oak carrying the stronger momentum.
However, Bekoe, who played for Asante Kotoko from 2007 to 2008, insists that form alone won’t decide the outcome of this encounter.
“I expect more of a tactical game than our normal, traditional expectation based on the form guide. It will be more about who plays their trump card first,” he told journalist Victor Kwawu.
“Just be tactically and mentally ready, and do not lose concentration until the final blast of the whistle. I also expect more strategies to outwit each other's game plan.”
The highly anticipated clash is set to kick off at 3 pm.
