The Electoral Commission's (EC) Greater Accra Regional office is under heavy security this morning as the Commission prepares to re-collate results for six outstanding constituencies.
The heightened presence is to ensure safety and order as the sensitive process unfolds.
The re-collation follows an Accra High Court ruling on December 21, directing the EC to finalise the election results for the Tema Central, Nsawam-Adoagyir, Ablekuma North, Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central constituencies.

The court ordered that the exercise must adhere strictly to the country's electoral laws.
Despite the court's directive, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that it will not participate in the re-collation process.

Speaking on Newsfile, JoyNews' Maxwel Agbagba who was outside the EC regional office reported that there are a few people near the area cordoned off by the police but not in political party paraphernalia.
JoyNews' James Avedzi also reports that some regional commissioners have started arriving at the venue, although the meeting to begin the re-collation is yet to commence.
The situation underscores the tensions surrounding these constituencies, as the results are pivotal in determining the final composition of Parliament.
