The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has given assurances to residents in the Volta and Oti regions of a consistent and dependable electricity supply throughout the festive Christmas period.
Christina Jatoe Kaleo, the Volta Regional General Manager of ECG, said this during a media briefing, reiterating the company's dedication to providing uninterrupted power to ensure a joyful celebration for all.
“Our priority is to guarantee that residents in the Volta and Oti regions experience a seamless power supply during the festive season,” she affirmed.
Speaking to the press, Ms Kaleo acknowledged the hurdles ECG encountered in 2024, including the demands of infrastructure maintenance and rising electricity consumption. However, she also underscored significant achievements and outlined strategic plans to address these issues in the forthcoming year.
She further appealed to the public to refrain from engaging in illegal electricity activities, such as power theft and encouraged them to report any such incidents. As an incentive, she assured that whistle-blowers would be duly rewarded.
“We urge residents to report any instances of power theft. These reports will be incentivised, as we collaborate to protect our power resources,” Ms Kaleo stressed.
