Liverpool manager Arne Slot has praised Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus for his versatility and quality ahead of the Reds' upcoming Premier League fixture.
Kudus, who joined West Ham from Ajax in the summer, has been in fine form and has caught the attention of the Liverpool boss.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Slot highlighted Kudus' ability to excel in multiple roles on the pitch.
"I think he’s a good player, that’s for sure," Slot said. "Everybody sees this. He can play multiple positions. I think he played here for Ajax against Liverpool as a nine as well."
Slot acknowledged the significant threat Kudus poses and noted the strength in depth of West Ham's squad despite recent injuries.
"He’s a big threat for them. They have many players. I think they have signed also many players during the summer, so even if three midfielders are out, I don’t think they have to play U21 players. They are still able to play players they brought in for many, many millions," he remarked.
Reflecting on the competitive nature of the Premier League, Slot praised the abundance of talent across clubs.
"That’s the Premier League — they all have, not only us or Chelsea, a lot of clubs have so many good players," he said.
Slot also took the opportunity to underline Liverpool's unique approach to integrating young players, emphasising it as a hallmark of the club.
"Although when I didn’t play my starters, we used our U21 players — that is part of our identity, and that’s what makes this club special, I think, as well," he added.
Liverpool will face West Ham in what promises to be an intense encounter, with Kudus expected to be a key player for the Hammers.
