Police in the Upper East Region are investigating a suspected arson attack after the Talensi Constituency office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was set ablaze at dawn on Saturday.

JoyNews' Albert Sore reported that the attack may have been carried out by party foot soldiers disgruntled over the nomination of John Millim Naabwomya as the District Chief Executive (DCE).

However, the constituency secretary, Augustine Guure, stated that it is difficult to confirm these claims as the perpetrators have not yet been identified.

Guure acknowledged that there had been some agitation following the announcement of the DCE nominations, but he could not definitively link this to the incident.
