More than 70 new converts were baptised into the Christian faith as the Youth Ministry of the Deeper Life Bible Church climaxed its five-day Easter retreat.
The retreat, held at Ayakomaso in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region, welcomed young boys and girls aged between 13 and 15 into the church’s Youth Ministry. These new converts had graduated from the Children's Ministry after receiving sound biblical teachings and doctrines to build their hope and confidence in Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of the Christian faith.
Pastor Robert Lugushie, the Bono Regional Coordinator of the Deeper Life Bible Church, led the baptism ceremony alongside local pastors, including Pastors Charles Ollu and Francis Kodom from the New-Dormaa and Agozo branches of the church, respectively.
Earlier, during a sermon, Pastor Lugushie told the hundreds of young people gathered at the campgrounds to celebrate the Easter festivities that “the blood of Jesus Christ shed on Calvary is still potent to save them from their sins.”
He explained, “No true Christian will ever be regretted here or hereafter,” urging the youth to maintain their faith in Christ and remain patient for the excellent plans of God to be fulfilled in their lives.
“True blessings, good success, and prosperity are only found in God,” Pastor Lugushie stated. He encouraged the new converts to be perseverant, cautious of temptations, and resilient in the face of persecution in their newfound faith.
He added that persecutions from the world were merely machinations of the devil designed to draw them away from their commitment to Christ. “Sometimes God allows these trials to build and strengthen your faith in Him,” he said.
Pastor Lugushie further encouraged the new converts to read their Bibles and pray consistently in order to overcome temptations and remain steadfast in Christ—promising that this spiritual discipline would bring not only earthly comfort but also eternal rewards.
