In an inspiring show of compassion and leadership, Mama Dasewa II, Queen Mother of Keta Dzelukope and a respected member of the Anlo Dukor Council, has once again brought joy and nourishment to the hearts of many during this year’s Easter celebrations.
What began as a modest gesture to support a few underprivileged children has flourished into a monumental annual outreach.
Initially targeting a small group of identified children, Mama Dasewa’s initiative has now grown to touch the lives of over 1,500 less privileged children, who gathered this Easter to celebrate in unity and joy.
Motivated by a profound sense of maternal care and civic duty, Mama Dasewa says she is driven by the desire to ensure that no child is left to wander the streets hungry on a day meant for celebration.
“It’s my greatest desire to see these children smile as I bring them under my care and feed them every Easter,” she shared.
She added, “I am a woman, and I know how devastating it is for a child to go hungry on a special day like this. I do it every year, and it fills my heart with joy to do even more.”
The Easter outreach offers far more than just a meal. It is a day filled with engaging games, lively community gatherings, and shared joy—all carefully curated to help the children feel valued, celebrated, and part of something greater.
Mama Dasewa II views the event not merely as a moment of generosity, but as a foundational investment in the future of the community.
Through her consistent efforts, she hopes to inspire a new generation raised in love and recognition, ready to extend the same compassion to others.
“This is the legacy I want to leave behind as Queen Mother—one of love, service, and the unwavering belief that every child deserves to be seen, fed, and celebrated,” she emphasised.
Mama Dasewa’s unwavering dedication has transformed a simple act of kindness into a powerful annual tradition—turning hunger into hope and making a lasting impact in Keta Dzelukope and beyond.
