The Spokesperson for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr Miracles Aboagye, has alleged that six individuals have sustained injuries following disturbances at a polling station in the Ablekuma North Constituency.
According to Mr Aboagye, the tensions, which flared at the St. Peter’s Society Methodist Church polling station in Odorkor during today’s re-run of the 2024 parliamentary election across 19 polling stations in the constituency, led to six persons sustaining injuries.
"There are six people who were injured. I was there. Right before me, and they are in the hospital."
He claimed that he narrowly escaped the violent scenes himself.
Eye‐witnesses report that the assailants overpowered the security detail and launched an assault on several political figures, including former MP and ex‐Fisheries Minister Mavis Hawa Koomson.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has since condemned the incident and called on government and security agencies to strengthen protection in the area to ensure peace and order throughout the electoral process.
The Electoral Commission scheduled the re-run after disputes over the initial outcome left the constituency without parliamentary representation for over six months.
