President John Dramani Mahama has nominated two individuals to serve as District Chief Executives (DCEs), in the Ashanti Region pending approval by their respective district assemblies.
In a letter released on Thursday, July 16, signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, the nominations were made in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended.
The nominees are Ibrahim Issahaq for the Atwima Mponua District Assembly and Yakubu Issifu for the Asante Mampong Municipal Assembly.
“The President of the Republic has nominated the following individuals as District Chief Executives, subject to approval by the respective District Assemblies,” the letter stated.
The appointments form part of government’s ongoing effort to strengthen local governance and ensure effective administration across the country.
“Accept the assurances of the highest consideration of His Excellency, the President of the Republic,” the letter added.
