Ghana’s 100m record holder, Abdul Rasheed Saminu, clocked 10.01 seconds to finish 2nd behind Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson (9.95s) at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial.
It was Saminu's first competition on the European circuit, having ended his collegiate season with the NCAA championships back in June.
The 27 year old beat off Africa’s fastest men, Ferdinand Omanyala and Akani Simbine.
Jamaica's Ackeem Blake and USA's Ronnie Baker were also in the race.
The 27-year old has had a breakout season in 2025, where he has broken the national record twice, first with a 9.86s clocking at the of May, before lowering his own record to 9.84s seven weeks later.
