The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the capacity of newly appointed envoys.
A Conference of Heads of Mission and Orientation Programme will take place from Monday, September 1, to Friday, September 5, 2025.
This event, themed "Harnessing the Dividends of Diplomacy for Ghana’s Reset Agenda," will be opened by former President John Dramani Mahama, who will also launch Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Heads of Mission.
The conference serves a critical purpose to equip Heads of Mission with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively carry out their roles in promoting Ghana's foreign policy objectives.
Participants will engage in briefings on key national interests and strategies designed to improve the livelihoods of citizens.
To ensure a comprehensive understanding of their responsibilities, the programme will feature special sessions led by experts from key national institutions.
These sessions aim to facilitate knowledge sharing and provide envoys with insights pertinent to their respective jurisdictions.
A press release from the Ministry emphasised that this conference is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the capabilities of Ghana's diplomatic corps.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms its commitment to providing quality public service and ensuring that our envoys are well-prepared to represent Ghana on the global stage,” the statement noted.
As Ghana continues to navigate complex international relations, this conference is expected to play a pivotal role in aligning the country’s diplomatic efforts with its broader development goals.
The Ministry invites all media houses to cover this important event and engage with the discussions that will shape the future of Ghana’s diplomacy.
