The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named an all-Ivorian team of referees, led by Patrick Tanguy Jean Philippe for Asante Kotoko’s CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round first-leg tie against Nigeria’s Kwara United.
He will be assisted by compatriots Nouho Ouattara (Assistant Referee I) and Lancine Kone (Assistant Referee II) for the match scheduled for Sunday, 21st September at the Accra Sports Stadium. The fourth official, Ibrahim Kalilou Traore, is also from ivory Coast.
The Match Commissioner, Bakary K. Jammeh, is from the Gambia, while Sierra Leone’s Sanusie Rashid will serve as the Referee Assessor.
Asante Kotoko are making a return to the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in three years.
Kotoko qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup by clinching the MTN FA Cup in July, after a 2-1 win over Division One League side, Golden Kick F.C.
On Saturday, Asante Kotoko announced that the match will be hosted at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Saturday's announcement means the Accra Sports Stadium will host two high profile CAF matches in September.
The first of the two games is Ghana's 2026 World Cup Qualifier against Mali on Monday, September 8.
