More trouble looms for the dismissed Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, Charles Akwasi Aidoo, as the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has announced a collaboration with the Ghana Police Service to effect his arrest.
The development comes after the Ghana Education Service (GES) on September 29, 2025, removed Mr Aidoo from office and barred him from entering the school, following a viral video that allegedly showed him fondling the breasts of a female student.
GES described the act as a gross breach of its code of ethics and indicated that further disciplinary action would depend on the outcome of ongoing investigations.
Addressing the matter during a working visit by Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang to the ministry on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, assured that her ministry is working closely with law enforcement to ensure justice.
“The recent one is the report of the female student at KNUST SHS with the assistant headmaster. Even though GES through the school dismissed him, we are collaborating with the police to effect the arrest of the perpetrator,” Dr Lartey said.
She stressed that the Ministry remains committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable groups, adding that perpetrators of abuse must face the full rigour of the law.
