A violent clash in Nanton in the Northern Region has left at least one person dead and sparked widespread fear among residents, forcing many students to abandon school since Monday.
The disturbance, believed to be linked to a chieftaincy dispute, has also led to the destruction of several houses and other property in the area.
According to local sources, the situation has created deep tension within the Nanton township, with many parents keeping their children at home for fear of renewed violence.
Although police and military personnel have been deployed to maintain order, students remain reluctant to return to class, citing persistent concerns for their safety.
