Five passengers of a Sprinter bus are feared dead after the vehicle reportedly rammed into a parked tipper truck along the Kumasi-Accra highway.
The devastating accident is said to have occurred at Atwedie near Konongo on the stretch.
Eleven person also sustained severe injuries to their bodies.
The accident involving the bus with registration number GR 6626-22 reportedly occurred in the early hours of Saturday, October 25, 2025.

Eyewitnesses recount the incident happened when the Sprinter bus was negotiating a bend and surprisingly met the stationed truck on the side of the road.
The bus eventually rammed into it resulting in the fatal collision.
A witness recollected the harrowing events leading to the gory accident.
“Two passengers who were seated at the front were trapped in the car following the accident, it took fire officers two hours to rescue them,” the witness said.

“Although the deaths are not confirmed by experts, I am afraid the five I saw may not survive.”
The Fire Service moved to scene to rescue passengers trapped in the wreckage.
The victims have since been rushed to a nearby hospital for medical care.
Security officials were at the scene controlling traffic on the stretch as the work to tow away the wreckage.
