Medeama returned to the summit of the Ghana Premier League with a narrow 1-0 victory over Swedru All Blacks at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa on Sunday.
The former champions, who had stumbled at home against Samartex in their previous fixture, got back on track thanks to a second-half strike from Kamaradini Mamudu.
Mamudu broke the deadlock in the 70th minute with a well-taken finish that settled the nerves of the home supporters and put Medeama firmly in control.
From then on, the Mauves and Yellows managed the game efficiently, keeping All Blacks at bay and seeing out the result with disciplined defending.
Despite dominating possession for much of the contest, Medeama were unable to extend their lead, though All Blacks rarely looked capable of mounting a comeback.
The win restores Medeama’s three-point advantage at the top of the table as they prepare to visit Hohoe United in their next outing.
Swedru All Blacks, who sit 13th with six points after the defeat, will look to bounce back when they host Heart of Lions.
