Ghana forward Jordan Ayew was on target for Leicester City as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Middlesbrough in the English Championship on Tuesday night.
The 33-year-old converted from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time to give the Foxes a deserved lead and end their run of back-to-back defeats in the league.
Leicester started the game brightly and controlled much of the first half, with Ayew leading the attack effectively. His composure from 12 yards handed the former Premier League champions a crucial advantage heading into the break.
However, Middlesbrough snatched a point deep into stoppage time through defender Luke Ayling, whose late strike silenced the home crowd at the King Power Stadium.
Ayew, who has faced criticism in recent weeks following Leicester’s poor run of form, has now scored two goals in 13 league appearances this season.
The result leaves Leicester 13th on the Championship table with 18 points after 14 matches.
Meanwhile, Ayew’s compatriot Abdul Fatawu Issahaku featured prominently, lasting 85 minutes before being replaced by Stephy Mavididi.
