The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has directed traders in Bantama to remove unlawful structures from pavements with immediate effect.
The Assembly stated that they will demolish these structures, which are causing a nuisance, on November 28, if the traders disobey the directive.
A statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the assembly noted that management was concerned about the increasing extension of shops and structures on walkways, which were impeding the movements of the public.
The indiscriminate packing of vehicles at unauthorised areas at the Bantama market had also escalated the nuisance and severe traffic congestion around the market.
The statement said the Assembly was concerned about this unlawful act and had therefore directed all affected traders to relocate to the race course market.
Traders can also contact the Bantama Sub-Metro at the Race Course for assistance.
